Campbell Congregation. Fan club name eh? That’s the idea we are bouncing around. And as always, we would love some insightful feedback of what you think. Last weekend we marked our territory in the Northeastern part of the country. We found ourselves in the turf of the NE Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens. Good people and always good to know that part of the country enjoys legitimate country music. And we celebrated Craig’s birthday. Check the latest Craig Cam to see how that went down.

And the award for the state with the most rocking honky tonks goes to….. North Carolina! At least so far in 2012. Played in Kernersville, NC and Jacksonville, NC this past weekend and they were some of the best shows we’ve had. All you other states need to step up your game if you want to compete. Be sure to check out all our tour dates to see if we’re coming to your local watering hole. In an effort for you all to get to know the band, I’m going to highlight the people I call my family on the road. First up is the man who is keeping it old school country. He goes by the name David and is definitely is the face of the bus’s morale. If you can’t get along with this guy, you may want to go to doctor to make sure you have a pulse. Hailing from the great state of Ohio and sporting the coolest hair of the band, he slips and slides on his steel guitar to define the Craig Campbell crew as authentic country and western music.

The Bluesman. Livin’ on Love. Chatahoochie. Boom. Awesome past 3 shows with the man, the living legend himself, Alan Jackson. His crew made us feel welcome from day 1 and great people to work with. Seeing the Alan Jackson crowd really made me appreciate the dynamics of country music. Going from playing shows with Luke Bryan and seeing the youthful energy of his fans to the soulful show of Jamey Johnson, to the attentive, traditional loving fans of AJ, it’s great to witness how far country music expands into the population’s demographics. As far as which crowd I like best...

We lost one of the family this past weekend. Josh, our production manager, moved onto greener pastures. But that’s okay because I’m upgrading to his bunk on the bus. Jk. Great guy and awesome at his job. For his last show though we pulled a little prank on him. There should be video of it coming soon, so stay tuned to Craig Cam. We have three shows with Alan Jackson coming up this next week/weekend. We’ll be in Minnesota, Iowa and Georgia. Looking forward to hearing some dag gum traditional country music.

Who would win: a hurricane or Craig Campbell? Hold on, the hurricane’s name is Craig. I’d say Craig Campbell. That’s ridiculous. It was a fun weekend, full of government buildings, blueberries, lobsta (New England accent) and hurricanes. We had a day off in Washington D.C. where we got our tourist on and saw some sites. Arlington is definitely a humbling experience. Had a great show at the Blueberry Fest in Union, ME. After we got the bus unstuck we were treated to some heavenly blueberry pie and some wicked sick lobsta. More New England accent. Yep.

What up CC people! Busy week this past week. Springfield, IL ya’ll know how to kick it on a Tuesday night! Opening for Luke Bryan is always a good time. Looking forward to seeing those guys on the road again. Thursday we enjoyed a beer or four at Power and Light in Kansas City. Excited to get back there! We woke up before the birds on Friday and flew to Vegas for a show with Dierks and Randy Houser. Collectively, our 8 man wolf pack ended up making money at the casinos and only breaking 3 laws. Speaking for the band, we missed our home away from home for a couple days.

So my occupation as merch ambassador is pretty sweet. Every town we go to I get to meet a bunch of you crazy country fans. And for all of you reading this, just so you know, when you approach my merchandise table, it’s my job to influence you to buy something. And if you don’t buy something, it is then my job to very nicely put you on a guilt trip. Hah. I’m joking. Sorta. For all of you who have bought something from me, I look up to you. Not because I am short, but because you are smart with your money. You are putting your hard earned dollars into something worthwhile.
