Craig Campbell Discusses Chasing Stardom, Taking Risks

Country singer Craig Campbell spent years in Nashville, Tenn., playing five nights a week while working a day job, hoping to achieve his dream. He'd moved from Vidalia, Ga., (population. 4,000) to the Music City in the early 2000s to chase stardom, so of course, when he was offered a major-label deal, he turned it down.

It's been 13 years since Country Music star Craig Campbell walked the halls of a prison. As the former corrections officer heads to the Hardeman County Criminal Justice Complex in Bolivar, TN to spend the day, he's a bit nervous about going back to work on the inside, but knows that as long as you respect the inmates, they will respect you. Surprise cell search, lockdown / headcount and serving up lunch put Craig in direct contact with the inmates through the day and they make sure to give the "new guy" a hard time.
