FRANKLIN — The brick and glass of the city’s downtown is again serving as the backdrop to a music video.
Craig Campbell, a Georgia-born country singer promoting his new album, used Franklin’s Main Street on Wednesday to shoot a video for “Outta My Head.” The tune is the title track for Campbell’s second album with the Bigger Picture Group, according to his website.
According to a permit application filed with the city, the production closed a portion of Main Street during the early morning hours Wednesday, but was clear of the roadway by 6:30 a.m. Crews planned to spray water on the street for a glistening effect. Footage was also shot along the sidewalk and inside one of the city’s restaurants, 55 South.
Writing credits for the song are shared by Brandon Kinney, a name Fairview residents may recognize, as well.
The restaurant used in the shoot, 55 South, is owned by Jason McConnell. McConnell recently renovated an adjoining space where he'll feature a steakhouse-style menu.
Last year, in September, teen pop star Justin Bieber used the same stretch of Franklin’s downtown to shoot a video for his holiday album, “Under the Mistletoe.” That project brought hordes of young onlookers eager for a glimpse of the singer.
